Smooth gold has been done.
Each cushion shaped disc here is crushed into an uneven, faceted surface, so light hits it from a dozen small angles rather than one flat mirror. Set your wrist on a cafe table by the window and the texture does the rest. It has real presence on the arm without any weight behind it, and it makes a plain sweater look deliberate.
Worn alone it is enough. That is the whole appeal.
